Chief Executive Officer
Jeff MacDonald is the Chief Executive Officer of JMI. Mr. MacDonald joined JMI in September 2005 and is now responsible for the overall strategic direction and long term success of the organization. He focuses on continuously strengthening JMI's portfolio of leading divisions, products and services through organic development, acquisitions and partnerships. One of his highest priorities and his greatest accomplishment is identifying, recruiting and retaining some of the most experienced and talented executives in the healthcare information industry to lead JMI's business units. Jeff has 20 years of experience ranging from general management to business valuation across several industries including healthcare, finance, publishing, communications and education. He applies this broad base of experience to create an environment at JMI where dedicated people can leverage strong assets to create valuable information offerings for healthcare professionals and financial supporters.
Prior to joining JMI, Mr. MacDonald spent seven years at Thomson Scientific and Healthcare where he held the title of Executive Vice President of Medical Education. Through his vision and leadership, he established the largest medical education operation in the world with 750 associates and 10 office locations throughout the U.S. and Europe including the largest professional healthcare newsletter publisher in the U.S. with 48 titles. During his career at Thomson Jeff also held the positions of Publisher for RN Magazine as well as President & CEO of American Health Consultants. He began his career in the information industry at Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President & CFO of the Medical and Financial Publishing Group which comprised over 20 magazines, journals, newsletters and live events including The International Medical News Group and Institutional Investor.
Mr. MacDonald received an M.B.A. in Finance from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
